Dry well DRAINAGE SOLUTION

What is a Dry well

A dry well is most often used in situations where a storm sewer connection is not available. Functioning the same as a French drain, dry wells provide large-capacity water collection and retention. They absorb saturated water from a large surrounding area and can dissipate the water back into the soil as it dries out. Commonly for those without storm sewer access, the dry well can be designed and set up to accommodate a pump to remove the water. This allows an unlimited capacity to remove ground saturation. Even without a pump, dry wells are very effective in collecting and dissipating water into the surrounding soil.

Dry Well Frequently Asked Questions

I saw online that most other installation techniques don’t include above ground access to pump out water. Why do you include that?

A dry well on its own functions very well without intervention. In fact, most customers report that there is no need to pump out a dry well. However, including the ability to pump out the water is easy for us to do and essentially gives the drainage system unlimited capacity no matter what the weather may bring.

Will I see the dry well once it’s installed?

The only thing seen from the surface will be a small access point to install a pump. Depending on the customers’ unique needs and desires, the cover can range from 6-12″ wide.

Can I drive my mower or other equipment over a dry well?

Yes. They are designed to handle the weight of common machinery. In the event uncommon equipment is needed in the yard, such as a skid steer, it is advisable to stay off the dry well location. Any riding mower or similar equipment can drive over it without concern.
